Finding the vacancies
Permanent posts are usually advertised in the Times Educational Supplement and all are included in our own vacancy list, the Education Advertiser, which is published every week during term-time on the job vacancies section of this website.

How to apply
1. By registering with the Local Authority
Simply e-mail: teacher.recruitment@nottscc.gov.uk to request a registration form.
2. Applications for specific posts as advertised
Details of how to apply will be included in the advertisements and you will usually be asked to send your application direct to the head teacher or principal of the school/college concerned. Many schools offer the opportunity for potential applicants to visit the school and this will give you a chance to see what the school is like before you apply.
In most cases you will be expected to complete a standard application form. A curriculum vitae may be included with your application form but this will not normally be accepted as a substitute for the application form itself.
3. Supply teaching
While most teachers will want a permanent post, some may wish to be considered for supply work. Nottinghamshire Local Authority operates it's own supply agency and this is often a good way for experienced teachers to get to know the county if they are new to the area.

Our supply teachers are paid in line with national pay rates and have access to training and professional development provided locally.
Newly qualified teachers are advised that supply contracts of less than a term will not count towards their induction period.
