We have a strong track record of working effectively together with the voluntary and community sector to deliver a diverse range of quality services to our communities.
These arrangements are essential to:
- Foster aspiration, independence and personal responsibility
- Promote the economic prosperity of Nottinghamshire and safeguard our environment
- Make Nottinghamshire a safer place to live
The diversity of the voluntary sector in Nottinghamshire, in skills, size, and aspirations also requires a strong infrastructure that assists in:
- delivering good quality services to the local community
- levering in additional resources from a range of sources
- supporting voluntary action for the benefit of the community
- promoting good practice in volunteering
- acting as a link between service users, providers and statutory agencies.
A range of measures help the voluntary sector in their delivery of local services including:
- the development of 'in principle' 3 year grant aid agreements with annual monitoring and review arrangements
- the development of jointly funded grant aid agreements with other main core funders such as district councils and Health Authorities
- the development of a joint Compact between the voluntary and community sector and local statutory organisations in Nottinghamshire
- supporting and maintaining regular liaison with the voluntary sector
- the development of a Corporate Grant Aid Strategy
