The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), sets out how the County Council proposes to consult and engage local communities and organisations when carrying out its planning functions.

These comprise:   

The preparation of new policy documents that will make up the Minerals and Waste Development Framework and

The determination of planning applications for minerals and waste development and proposals for its own development such as schools and roads.

The SCI was adopted by the County Council on 18 January 2007. This followed three major public consultation exercises and an independent examination held before a Government appointed Inspector.

The Adopted SCI can be purchased from the County Council for £8.00 plus £2.00 postage. Alternatively, the SCI acan be viewed here.
