Nottinghamshire County Council is the minerals and waste planning authority for the county, with the exception of the City of Nottingham, which is a unitary authority.
There are two basic duties that the minerals and waste planning authority must do and these are to:
- Prepare the Minerals and Waste Development Framework.
- Exercise its duties of development management.
